Please pardon cross postings to PACS-L and LIBREF-L.
Having acquired new multimedia equipment, we are exploring
new products to run on it. We are especially interested in
packages dealing with aspects of the humanities or social
sciences. We are aware of the product line from Voyager and
Warner New Media, and have consulted with the Optical Publishing
Association. (The latter told us that few computer-based were
being developed for the humanities, because humanities people
were very rarely computer literate. Glad he cleared up that
confusion.)
If any libraries are running multimedia products in the
humanities/social sciences, involving sound, graphics, and text,
or if you know of interesting new products, we'd appreciate you
dropping us a line.
