Gail,
We took care of it with dedicated workstations and autoexec.bat commands.
We've even renamed and hidden such commands as "format" to protect our
system. Luckily, it seems to work!

I suspect I'm going to get blasted by making the following comment in
relation to this posting, so I've got my "shields up". I think I
understand the quandry of providing service and maintaining appropriate
equipment utilization. But I'm uncomfortable with the idea of inserting
software barriers to patron use. Every such modification simply is one
more spot to troubleshoot when things go wrong. Besides, Gail does not
suggest there has been widespread ABUSE of her hardware, merely that she
suspects some people may be using it inappropriately. Unless there is
methodical or regular abuse, I think I'd tend to blink my eye, thinking I
may have saved a patron a few minutes tracking down a place to print out
some document he/she needed in a hurry.
