                        POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

LIBRARIAN,  REFERENCE/TECHNICAL SERVICES An innovative  beginning
professional  level  position offering the incumbent  an  unusual
opportunity  for  gaining experience in  reference  services  and
various technical services.  Responsibilities will include  elec-
tronic  information  services (online and CD-ROM  searching)  and
online   cataloging  using  OCLC  and  NOTIS.   Required:    ALA-
accredited  MLS degree, excellent oral and written  communication
skills,  outstanding interpersonal skills.   Desirable:   related
experience and demonstrated evidence of adaptability.
Faculty status, tenure track.  Excellent fringe benefits.   Mini-

INFORMATION SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR  Manage the national
award-winning Oregon Public Access Catalog, the Oregon State Library's
statewide information system serving libraries, state government, and
citizens.  The successful candidate will have an ALA-accredited MLS
and four years of progressively responsible library experience
including at least two years of management experience.  Compensation
range is $35,580-$50,112.  Application information is available from
