Please excuse the cross postings.
We at TWU are currently experimenting with the idea of making available
electronic reference for use by our university patrons through our OPAC.
We are sure that we want to offer this service, but we would like to see or
hear about other such projects, either completed or in progress, at other
institutions.

Some of our questions include the following:
Are replies to reference questions made in electronic form only through e-mail,
or is the telephone used for responding? Is one reference librarian placed in
charge of answering all questions, or are several librarians involved? What
type of information retrieval is done through the electronic reference system?
Suggestions and comments are welcome, as well as the names of institutions that
have electronic reference already in place. (Any chance one could Telnet into
such an OPAC and at least see the configuration of the electronic reference
system?)
