Fred Lerner's questions about letting folks know about
the PILOTS database are important. As PILOTS is part of
the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, it certainly is not
commercial. But what if it were? How would "advertising"
it change under those circumstances?
It is clear to many people that the Internet is going to
be open to commercial ventures. The policies are in
place in some instances, and being considered in others.
Let's think now about how to make commercialization
work for us, rather than wait until the Internet begins
to look like a 900-number service.

In my opinion it proper. I would say considering the topic it is necessary.

1. Use the review command for each of the lists. That way you get the list
owner's email address.
2. Contact the list owner and tell them what you want to do. Enclose a copy of
your announcement.
3. You will avoid many of the headaches I got when I announced my guide to the
internet resources in agriculture.
