Position: Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery, Copier Services
Unit Head.
General Responsibilities: Clemson University Libraries is looking for a
dynamic, service oriented individual to fill a newly created position of
Unit Head of Interlibrary Loans, Copier Services, and Document Delivery.
The Unit Head reports to the Director of Libraries and is responsible
for providing the overall leadership and direction of services,
including handling of non-routine ILL transactions, training, planning
and supervising a unit which has responsibility for interlibrary loan
services, campus document delivery and library copier services. The
Unit is comprised of 6.5 FTE classified support staff and appr. 15
student assistants. The Unit is responsible for high, year-round volume
of ILL transactions, including invoicing and payments, a growing docu-
ment delivery system to faculty and staff of the University and related
research facilities, and high volume photcopier operations. The
Libraries operate in a team-oriented philosophy with greatest priority
given to our users. Cooperation with other units within the Libraries
is expected since responsibilities may overlap among historically
functional areas such as Reference, Circulation, and Acquisitions.
Qualifications: Required: ALA/MLS (or equivalent), five years of
professional experience, excellent communication skills, demonstrated
successful supervisory skills, knowledge of print and electronic
sources, awareness of trends that will affect the future ways informa-
tion is delivered to patrons, strong commitment to service and excel-
lence.
Desired: Two or more years of ILL experience, willingness to work in
a team environment, willingness and ability to adapt to changes in
technology and environment to meet the challenges of delivering
information to patrons, knowledge of accounting and record keeping
with ILL and document delivery operations.

Minimum salary: $30,000
