Another LITA Opportunity:
Associate Editor, LITA Yearbook 1992
THE JOB
Check copy editing (and do additional copy editing) and proofread
edited material for the LITA Yearbook 1992, a paperback supplement
to the LITA Yearbook. The Associate Editor will receive edited
material and original manuscripts during the first two weeks of
August, and will need to return any comments by August 21 (either
in paper or electronic form). Anticipate 60,000-80,000 words of
copy. All work takes place during August, but is intensive for
those two or three weeks.
THE REWARD
Your name on the cover of the LITA Yearbook, which will go to at
least 5,200 people and institutions. An extra copy of the book.
My thanks. A higher profile within LITA and the profession (perhaps).
THE REQUIREMENTS
Must be a skilled writer or editor, with good proofreading skills.
Must be able to handle schedules and meet deadlines. Must be a LITA
member and reasonably familiar with the vocabulary of library and
information technology. The ideal candidate will live or work within
easy driving distance of Mountain View, CA, but that is *not*
a requirement.
A successful job as Associate Editor will lead to the invitation
to continue in this role for future LITA Yearbooks.
