This is an enquiry from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
I would like to know if any DATABASE OF SPEECH SAMPLES is available on
Internet or BITNET for accessing through e-mail. I know that a couple
of Nucleic Acid/ Protein Sequences Databases are available at Uni. of
Wisconsin, etc. on some mail servers where anybody can send a query by
e-mail and receive the search-output by e-mail. We received a query
about this Database of Speech Samples from a researcher in our Computer
Science School and we could gather that such a database is developed
at Carnegie-Mellon Uni. But we don't know if it is available on a
mail server.
Can anyone of PACS-L subscribers help with some info. in this regard?
Thanking you in advance,
A.S. Ravi
