One of my faculty will participate in the UNCED environmental meetings in Rio
de Janeiro. He will bring a notebook, with modem, so that he can take
notes, etc. He also wants access to his e-mail.
Does anyone know whether a public (fee-for-service) Internet access exists in
Rio de Janeiro, similar to the service offered by Software Tool & Die (The
World), where he can dial a local number and have an Internet address for the
three weeks he's in Rio?
A technical question: the built-in modem uses the RJ-11 jacks. Does anyone
know what's used in Brazil for modular connectors? Suggestions as to making
the transition?
Direct responses, please, as I'm not currently subscribed. I'll summarize and
post for the list. Thanks for the help.
