Subject: barcode labels and readers
We are in the process of switching to barcode from OCR. During
this process, we would like to find a vendor that can produce a label
with both an OCR and Barcode (code 39.) There are many vendors out
there. Has anyone done this before and would you recommend a certain
vendor.
Also, I am looking for input on barcode reader devices. Are
there certain vendors or barcode readers that we should stay away from?
Are there barcode readers that have held up for years? Any input
would be helpful.

Can someone point me to a source for a shareware package named "Shepherd."
It is a TSR which will wait for a period of inactivity in your current
application and then shut it down in an orderly manner so that your
system can return to a menu display.
