While I am certainly not a "true believer" in the paperless society any
time soon, it might be interesting to pose the following question: it is
clearly documented that automation has in many respects increased rather
than decreased paper usage as Carol Doms points out. The question is this.
To what extent is the increase in paper creation a natural function of
automated information systems versus a product of the human inefficiency of
using such automated systems? I look forward to hearing your thoughts on
this question. Thanks.
