POSITION:  Serials/Automation Librarian, Senior Assistant or Assistant
Librarian rank. Anticipated start date Summer 2004. This is a calendar
year (twelve-month) full-time tenure track appointment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Primary duties include managing automated systems,
serials acquisitions, and Web services. Reference desk coverage,
including some evenings and weekends, is required. Participation in
library collection development, as well as campus and professional
service.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Required: ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent. Experience
with automated library systems. Experience with web design and standard
office software, including spreadsheet and database packages.
Familiarity with online research databases. Strong oral and written
communication skills and good interpersonal skills. Excellent attention
to detail. The ability to work effectively, both independently and as
part of a team, in a dynamic environment.  
Preferred: Three or more years experience in academic libraries.
Experience with print and electronic serials management. Experience with
Aleph and/or MultiLIS systems. Experience with EZproxy and SFX, or other
Open URL technologies. Familiarity with Oracle and/or UNIX. Reference
and supervisory experience, as well as evidence of professional
development activity.

SALARY & BENEFITS:  Salary and rank commensurate with experience and
