I would like to recommend the following article to all librarians and
librarians-to-be, especially those who may feel that the best response to all
the uproar about the internet is to wait and see how it all turns out:

I think it's right on the money. I would only add that I think our, i.e.,
librarians', involvement in how the world of networked information develops
is important not only for the future of librarians but for those whom we
serve.
