I'm trying to put together a chronology of digital reference services, and I
am looking for early examples of such services.

I've run across articles in the literature that describe e-mail reference
services from 1985. I'm aware of chat reference services that started in
1998.

If you know of early examples of such services, please drop me a note.

Thanks!
