May I recommend and urge your support for the independently-funded ALA ASCLA
Division Century Scholarship Diversity Initiative, part of the ALA scholarship
program.

The Century Scholarship recruits people to the profession from as yet a vast,
untapped market of talented new LIS recruits: people who represent the
beautiful universal diversity of doing things differently, people who in
addition to so many other talents, are experts in universally important
accessibility and assistive technology :the highest tech with the highest human
touch.
The ALA ASCLA Century Scholarship now boasts 2 outstanding talented Century
Scholars: Rebecca Van Scyoc (2000-at Illinois) and Simon Healey (2001 at
Pittsburgh).
Your help is needed in recruiting our 2002 Century Scholarship applicants, the
future professionals that we so desperately need now.
