The Tri-College Library Consortium (Bryn Mawr, Haverford, & Swarthmore
Colleges) seeks a Web Editor/Developer to work with digital services and
systems librarians to create, develop, implement, and improve web-based
library services. Position will entail project management and
implementation duties including web application programming, database
programming, and editing; will have a variety of responsibilities
including coordinating tasks, facilitating communication, developing
project specifications, and conducting project evaluations; will have an
office at Swarthmore College; will move among the campuses to consult with
library staffs; will work closely with the Tri-College Consortium Research
and Development Coordinator and Tri-College Systems Coordinator; and will
forge effective working relationships with other web developers on each
campus. Bachelor's degree and demonstrated knowledge of database
construction and development required. Understanding of HTML, web page
creation and editing, and effective interface design necessary as well as
the ability to learn new markup syntax and programming or scripting
languages required. Previous library work experience preferred.
This new position is two-year, grant-funded, with possibility of
continuation and will be a good fit for someone interested in harnessing
the potential of web-based technologies in support of the mission of
liberal arts education. Salary dependent on qualifications and experience
(minimum $35,000); superior benefits package including 22 days of vacation
and 11 paid holidays per year. Submit cover letter explaining
