OHIONET and the OCLC Institute introduce two new seminars:
"Library Management in the Knowledge Age," March 19-20, 2001, Dublin, OH
"Planning in a Time of Rapid Technological Change," March 21-22, 2001,
Dublin, OH.
We have extended the registration deadlines for both seminars through March
10, 2001.
"Library Management in the Knowledge Age" approaches the issues & challenges
faced by today's library leaders, offering skills and learnings that define
effective leadership, along with a hard look at how management in a library
setting differs from management in a business setting. Theory and practical
exercises help new managers develop leadership skills and provide a useful
skills update for those currently in management positions.
Cost: OCLC Members $400.00; Non-Members $450.00. Further details and

"Planning in a Time of Rapid Technological Change" examines the difference
between managing change and reacting to it and shows techniques and
strategies for planning for long-term resource allocation of people and
systems in a rapidly shifting technological environment. This seminar
offers a planning approach that combines top-down development and bottom-up
assessment and uses both lecture and hands-on exercises drawn from
real-world situations.
