AUTOMATED SYSTEMS MANAGER

The Knox County (TN) Public Library System (KCPLS), Knoxville TN, is
seeking candidates for a departmental manager to direct the operation of
a Sirsi automated circulation/catalog system and to oversee the
selection, use, and maintenance of other electronic equipment and
software for the Library System.  Duties include, but are not limited
to: supervising staff, planning automated system enhancements, directing
installation and maintenance of automation equipment (including some 200
PCs) and software, recommending plans of action and purchases, and
resolving problems.  Requires ALA-accredited MLS/MIS supplemented by
five years of progressively responsible supervisory and/or
administrative experience involving library operations and computer
operating systems.  Ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking and
planning skills essential.

KCPLS, the largest public library system in East Tennessee, with 19
facilities, circulates over two million items annually and serves a
population of over 375,000.  Salary: $44,303 plus comprehensive benefits
