Hi! I agree this is an appropriate discussion for PACS-L. More and more
hype in the business world is moving toward wireless appliances from
laptops to mobile phones that connect to the Internet. We in libraries
will need to think about how we will design our services, our web pages,
our web-based catalogs and other information resources, and our facilities
to meet the needs of wireless users.

There are standards for design of web sites used on portable devices (e.g.
Palm Pilots) that we need to begin to study. Has anyone, particularly a
university with a large business school, begun to look at such standards
and to think about alternate designs? Many of the portable devices will
not work well with graphics-intensive designs. Will we need to develop
multiple interfaces?
