(with apologies for cross-posting) --

I'm writing an article on "The Other Home Page: Special-Purpose Entry
Points for Library Web Sites." As the title suggests, this will deal
with web pages created for special situations such as staff use or
public access Internet stations. I'm especially interested in the
pages used as entry points: how do they relate to the library's primary
"home page"; what are the key considerations for content and design;
are there identifiable best practices in this area?

For the full abstract and some examples, go to < http://www.jkup.net >
and click on "The Other Home Page."

If your library--academic, public, corporate, or whatever--has
special-purpose web pages such as these, please let me know at
< jkup@jkup.net >.  If possible, include URL's.  I will send you
a *short* e-mail questionnaire and may quote your comments and/or
select your page(s) for display in the article, in which case I'll
ask your permission in advance.

If your library simply uses its primary home page for special
situations such as these, I'd like to hear from you also!
