Please excuse cross-postings to various lists -- Thanks so much.
Here at the College of Santa Fe, we will probably be installing
Microsoft Word on a number of our public computer workstations. Through
these stations, our patrons can also access the Internet and connect to
various library-related electronic databases. Since we are a small
staff and there are limitations on our schedules and technical expertise
to provide support for our patrons using the workstations for word
processing, we are seeking an off-the shelf software program that could
work either as a standalone on each machine or over a network.
Ideally, this software would automatically deny access to Word for
pre-established periods of time. For example, users could not access
Word from 8:00 a.m to 10: a.m. and from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Has any one discovered such a program, and if so what have been your
experiences with it?
Thanks so much,
Maryhelen Jones
