This is in response for information regarding products that will
support 3270 emulation under Microsoft Windows in an Ethernet
environment.
Vanderbilt uses DCA's IRMALAN/EP gateway product to provide
access for PC and Macintosh systems on our Novell Ethernet LANs
to our NOTIS system. DCA's IRMALAN Windows Client is the
software that we use with PCs that run Windows to access NOTIS
through this gateway. We use the DOS client for most of our
NOTIS OPAC stations, and for many of staff stations. But as more
and more staff start using Windows, we move them from the DOS
version to the Windows-specific version. This software is not
innexpensive, but does work quite well and is rich in features.
