NEWS RELEASE RMG Consultants, Inc. November 24, 1998

"WILL E-BOOKS 'CHANGE THE GAME' FOR LIBRARIES?"
                         is the topic of
RMG's Ninth Annual Presidents' Seminar: The View from the Top

         January 29, 1998 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., Philadelphia
(Location to be Announced Once Assigned by ALA)

Are E-Books the final technology piece in creating commercially
viable Digital Libraries? What lies ahead for E-Books, Libraries,
and the Library and Book Industries?

How do the presidents of the leading library technology companies
and other invited guests from the Library Industry assess the
impact of E-Books?

Top executives of the leading vendors of integrated library
systems are asked in this free seminar to frame comments and
questions for each other and the audience on topics such as:

     * Will E-Books "Change the Game" for Libraries and the Library
       Industry?

     * Will E-Books be distributed to users through libraries, or
       around them?

     * How will the mission, values, and roles of Public Libraries
be affected by "for-pay content" in the Digital Library World?

     * What new business strategies and technology trends will E-
Books bring to the Library and Book Industries? How much more
convergence among technology and content companies, and library
industry book distributors and automated system vendors?

     * Will "Generation After-Next Systems" be required for
libraries to coherently manage and serve analog and digital
       collections to customers?

     * Should we combine Library, Internet, E-Book and E-Commerce
standards to provide needed library systems and services?

The ground rules for this panel of top executives are to keep
their discussions of libraries and technology at professional and
industry-wide levels -- but not to make sales pitches or to
promote their companies.

Companies from throughout the Library Industry are invited to
attend as members of the audience, to add their questions and
comments to those of the library automation panelists.

Led by Rob McGee, President, RMG Consultants, Inc., this free
seminar annually focuses the library community on the
significance of new technologies. This unique industry forum for
the exchange of ideas on leading edge developments is RMG's way
of thanking the vendors, buyers, and users of systems who have
made the library automation industry robust and dynamic.
