I am hunting for a "standard" or common name for the position in the
library that handles the PC support. What do you call them?
The very brief job description would be that they do all the pc setup and
support, staff the help desk, and monitor local area and wide area
networks. Most things, in other words, short of systems administration, or
server management. And not much application development.
I'm also a little bit interested in what people's staffing diagrams look
like these days. Do we have Database Managers for our Oracle systems,
Software specialists for our opac management, Network administrators who
handle Openview and Cisco router configuration, server managers who do
unix and NT systems administration, PC et all support or what?
