We are looking for some software that will meter 8-10 networked laser
printers in our library Information Commons which has about 100
computers.

We have an Information Technology Fee that covers free printing in the
library, currently running about $17,000 per year for paper and ink.
After a year and a half, we are beginning to think about determining a
quarterly print allocation that wold cover curriculum based research
printing (say 300 pages), and charge for anything over that. Many
students are just printing everything they find as it is "free," and/or
personal information.

Students have to log on to the computers. I am looking for software
that would allocate each student per quarter, say 300 pages, and
thereafter charge per page printing to an account setup for each
student. The student will then be billed for all printing over the
allocation.

Anyone aware of software that will do this?
