At ALA the LITA Emerging Technologies Interest Group will be hosting a
facilitated discussion on the newly released Microsoft Windows 4.0
Terminal Server (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dailynews/061798.htm).
The MS Terminal Server is a new version of the NT 4.0 server software
which enables virtually any computer from a 386 clone up to run an NT
session remotely on the server. This software has the potential to
enable libraries to reuse much of their existing base of older equipment
for new NT desktop purposes.
The Interest Group business meeting will be held immediately following
the discussion session. The Emerging Technologies Interest Group is
looking for a new Vice-Chair for the coming year.
The session will be held Sunday, June 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at
the Gallaudet University Kellogg Conference Center, Room 5A. Gallaudet
University is located at 800 Florida Avenue NE, Washington, D.C. (see map
at URL: http://www.gallaudet.edu/~pubreweb/visitor/campus).
Best Regards,
Martin Halbert
