The LAMA Education Committee Focus Group on Continuing Education Needs
The LAMA Education Committee will hold a focus group at the ALA Annual
Conference in Washington D.C. on Monday, June 29, 1998, from 9:30 AM to
11:00 AM at the Radisson Hotel/ Barcelona Room to explore issues related to
the continuing education mission of LAMA. The discussion will take the form
of a general brainstorming session, followed by small-group discussions, and
a wrap-up session. Issues to be covered will include:
Continuing education-- What areas should LAMA be focusing on in developing
continuing education programs?
Annual Meeting programs and pre-conferences-- What program topics and
formats have been most successful? What topics should be covered in future
annual meeting programs? What are the ingredients of a successful LAMA program?
Regional institutes and publications-- How is LAMA doing compared to other
divisions of the Library Association? How can we do better?
The focus group will be conducted by members of the LAMA Education Committee
and is open to all. Please pass this information bulletin on to interested
colleagues.
