REFERENCE LIBRARIAN (Half-time)
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, an honors university serving
more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students, has recently
invested in a new library building featuring extensive technological
development and online resources (see www.umbc.edu/library). We seek a
librarian who enjoys the challenge of meeting a wide range of service
responsibilities. These include: (1) providing reference services,
including shared evening and weekend hours; (2) preparing documentation,
instructing staff and users; and (3) writing assignments. Half-time
position (20 hrs/wk), with salary $14,000-16,500 and attractive benefits.
Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS. 1 year professional academic library
reference experience preferred. Demonstrated analytical, organizational,
communication skills, and familiarity with reference resources are
required.
