The latest issue of POLICY PERSPECTIVES 7.4 (March 1998) deals with
the rising costs of academic libraries and is co-sponsored by ARL,
AAU, and the Pew Higher Education Roundtable. Good summation of
problems we face annually, budget-wise. Go to:
http://www.irhe.upenn.edu/cgi-bin/pp-cat.pl
and get "To Publish and Perish." You'll have to register first (it's
free), and the site is slow to respond, but it's worth the wait.
