tachnology and librarianship in the international arena.
"The Internet and Global Librarianship: Challenges and Opportunities."

The potential the Internet provides for the globalization of information
services presents a number of challenges in the areas of language, technology,
culture, needs for information literacy training, and intellectual property
issues. At the same time, the Internet also offers many opportunities for
librarians and libraries to cooperate with one another to enrich the services
and programs they provide to their user communities.
Join us at our ALA Annual Meeting for a stimulating discussion of the many
facets of this topic facilitated by Monica Ertel, Director, Advanced Technology
