Below is a notice about the 3rd Annual Digital Storytelling and Computer
Game Design Festival at Indiana University
I realize many folks reading this list can't come but we are thinking of
expanding this festival to a 2-3 day celebration of new media design next
year centered at the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. I am interested in
finding other folks in the BIG 10, midwest area who would be interested in
working on this project with the idea that ultimately it would rotate
yearly among participants. I'd like to reach storytellers, librarians and
others interested in new media design, children, and entertainment.
If anyone is interested send me mail and I'll add you to discussion list
as we try to get this idea of the ground.
Thanks, Thom

3rd Annual Digital Storytelling and Computer Game Design Festival
Thursday May 15th at 7 p.m.
at the Waldron Arts Center in Bloomington Indiana
Saturday May 17th at 1:30 p.m.
at the Children's Museum in Indianapolis
Join us for a presentation of new media design created by graduate and
undergraduate students at Indiana University from Anthropology, Computer
Science, Fine Arts, Instructional Systems Technology, Journalism, Music,
Telecommunications, the Individualized Majors Program, and the School of
Library and Information Studies.
These projects were created by combining cutting-edge 3-D renderings and
illustrations, interaction design, digital video and music, marketing, and
old fashioned storytelling. The products range from individual personal
expression to group designed adventure games and immersive instructional
environments. None of these works are 'final' projects, all are works in
progress, and all are exceptionally well done.
These demonstrations are open to all from grade school to senior citizens
and everyone in between. If you are a storyteller, working with kids or
thinking about an interactive future you don't want to miss this
presentation.
