Orange County Public Library in Orange County, California is
conducting a recruitment for LIBRARY MATERIALS EVALUATOR (SENIOR
LIBRARY SPECIALIST).This recruitment is being held to establish an
Open Eligible List to fill vacancies in this class until the next
recruitment. Applications accepted from 8:00 a.m. April 9, 1997
though 5:00 p.m. April 24, 1997. Salary per month ranges from
approximately $2827-$3812 maximum.
General duties:
Under direction, evaluates a wide variety of books & other library
materials for purchase & makes selection recommendations to 27
branches; prepares bibliographies in areas of specialization &
develops opening day collect
ions for new branches; may help evaluate books & materials
published in a variety of foreign countries.
Education/Experience:
Possession of a graduate degree in Library Science & 18 months of
experience performing professional library work which would have
applied or developed the required knowledge & abilities.
