I am guest editing a special topic issue of _Library Hi Tech_ on
security, with a major focus on authentication and authorization issues.
I am looking for a few more authors who could write about the following,
either in a short sidebar or as a full article:
- a security breach you had, what problems it caused you, what you did
about it, how you are avoiding having it happen again
- a problem you had with people getting into licensed databases that they
weren't supposed to be getting into, what problems it caused you, what you
did about it, how you are avoiding having it happen again
- an implementation of an authentication and/or authorization
system for controlling access to licensed electronic resources
- an implementation of public workstation security that allows access to
electronic resources but keeps users from hacking the workstation
configuration and doing things you don't want them to do, BUT ONLY IF you
are doing something somewhat sophisticated (i.e. more than just tweaking
of existing operating system and web browser software)
We are on a pretty tight schedule for this and so I would appreciate
hearing from anyone interested by Thursday, March 27. Please respond
