I Would Be Very Grateful For Any Suggestions Regarding The Best Web
OPAC for an aerospace And Specialty chemical company to use in its
intranet. We are
Leaning Toward OCLC's Techlibplus, because it is Compatible With Our
Largely Basis-Oriented Document Management System, But We Are
Interested In Considering Other Options Before We Make Our Final
Decision.
Other Company And/Or Product Names Which I Have Been Asked To
Investigate Include Datatrek (Eos), Sydney (Sp.?), And Caspr.
I Have Heard That The Former Datatrek Company Has Recently Merged With
An Organization In The United Kingdom. The General Wisdom On Such
Mergers Is That They Generally In The Creation Of New,
Syncretistic Products. While Such New Products May Be Great, They Are
Untested, Which Is Why Many Libraries May Be Shying Away From Trying
The New Datatrek (Eos) Product.
The Techlibplus Product Is Nice, Because It Allows The User To Search
By Discipline, Chosen From A Menu, In Addition To The Conventional
Whole Opac Search. Also, Default Boolean Operators And Sorting And
Ranking Methods Are Clearly Displayed In The Search Window, But Allow
The User To Select Other Options From Pull-Down Menus.
The User Can Also Search A Variety Of Fields From The Same Search
Screen, And Thesaurus Searching Is Available For All Fields.
Our collection is not huge, so we don't need something with an
enormous capacity.
Again, any suggestions or comments would be most appreciated. (Sorry
about all the capital letters; I don't know what in the world my email
system is doing!)

Oracle or Access Visual Basic software. If it exists, can you give us some
