Reference/Systems/ILL Librarian
Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX
Available Immediately
Provide reference and ILL services to students, faculty and practicing
Chiropractors in the form of research assistance and document retrieval
using online databases and Internet resources. Administer student computer
lab and supervise lab assistants. Provide daily support and regular
training classes in the use of the computer lab and its resources. Assist
with the implementation of a new integrated library system. Work with the
Manager of Academic Computing in developing resources for the campus Intranet.
MLS from an accredited library school and 1-3 yrs professional experience
including reference service required. Prefer life/health sciences
background. Requires extensive DOS/Windows based microcomputer experience;
experience installing, upgrading, using, supporting and troubleshooting a
variety of software. Prefer experience with WordPerfect, WinSPIRS
(SilverPlatter Search software for Windows), MEDLINE online and
CD-ROM databases, and OCLC PRISM service for ILL.
Parker College of Chiropractic is a private college of approximately
1200 students pursuing the Doctor of Chiropractic degree, a 9
trimester course of study. Library personnel consist of 3 librarians
and 2.5 staff. Librarians are members of the faculty.
Salary: approx $30,000+ calculated on yrs of experience.
