Not to take away from your achievement, but the National Library of Canada
has been doing this for a while through its Web directory "Canadian
Information By Subject" (http://www.nlc-bnc.ca/caninfo/ecaninfo.htm).

I've reproduced what the pages look like for science and astronmy via the
Lynx browser:

Canadian Information By Subject: Subject Order (p6 of 10)
   5 Science, mathematics

   50 Science, mathematics in general

       54 Chemistry
       55 Earth sciences (incl. meteorology)
       56 Paleontology
       57 Life sciences (incl. biology)
       58 Botany
       59 Zoology

Obviously not as thorough or finely classified as your more specialized
site. The NLC Canadian Information By Subject does pick up sites such as
yours for listing, so do submit it for inclusion.
