SYSTEMS MANAGER

About the Indiana Historical Society (IHS)
The Indiana Historical Society is seeking candidates for the full-time
position of systems manager.  Founded in 1830 and located in Indianapolis,
IHS is a private, independent membership organization dedicated to
collecting, preserving, and promoting Indiana's history.   For more

About the position
The systems manager is responsible for coordinating all
activities--planning, installation, training maintenance--related to the
IHS's automation needs.  Duties include:  maintenance of LAN; plan,
recommend, and implement organization-wide hardware and software standards;
provide user support and training; support IHS's presence on the Internet.
A complete position description is available on the IHS Web page or upon
request from human resources. Candidates should have working knowledge of
computer design and repair, excellent communication and leadership skills,
and enjoy working with people.  Required:  Two years of responsible
experience demonstrating the ability to administer an automated system
(Novell or MS Windows NT networks)--including the responsibility to
troubleshoot and resolve operational problems.  Preferred:  Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer or Novell Certified Systems Engineer.  BS in
computer science, math, or related program.

Pay and benefits
The annual salary range for this position starts at $38,585; pay offered
will be commensurate with experience and skills.  IHS offers an excellent

insurance; a voluntary cafeteria plan; pension and tax-deferred annuities
with TIAA-CREF; employee assistance program; and generous leave time.
Parking is provided in a nearby garage for a one-time $11 fee.
