FULL-TIME ACADEMIC VACANCY
APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 6, 1997, 4:00 p.m.
POSITION: LIBRARIAN: tenure track, full-time, 11 month per year position.
Available August, 1997.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's in library science; OR a combination of education and
experience that is at least the equivalent of item above (candidates making
application on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested
for an equivalency judgment, indicated on the Equivalency Process
information sheet attached to the application); OR A valid Community ollege
credential in the discipline; Ability to satisfy all requirements for tenure
in accordance with Board Policy 3095 Tenure; Sensitivity to and
understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability,
and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Desirable:
Successful reference experience;
Enthusiasm for learning new ways for accessing and sharing
information;
Demonstrated written and oral communications skills;
Demonstrated knowledge of the Internet;
Demonstrated knowledge of multi-media presentation software;
Successful classroom teaching experience;
Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff;
Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community
Colleges.
SALARY: Placement on the salary schedule will be based upon education and
experience. Range: $33,832 to $65,877
