Reference Librarian - Search Extended

Carnegie Mellon University Libraries seek a member of the Hunt Library
Information Center reference team.   Primary responsibilities: Reference
desk duty, including rotating nights and weekends;  liaison and
collection development services for the H. John Heinz III School of
Public Policy and Management and for two departments in the College of
Humanities and Social Sciences - Statistics and Social and Decision
Sciences; promotion and facilitation of access to data sets including
ICPSR;  provision of subject resource information on the WWW; and
participation in library outreach and instruction programs.  Librarians
are expected to participate in professional development activities.

Required:  MLS (ALA); ability to use a variety of client platforms and
computer systems; excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
ability to work well in individual as well as team situations. Academic
background in social sciences, public policy or management.

Preferred: One or more years academic library reference experience.
Advanced degree in relevant subject; experience with data sets or
government documents.

Salary negotiable from $24,700 minimum depending upon qualifications and

ASSOCIATE PROVOST FOR INFORMATION RESOURCES AND TECHNOLOGY

Bradley University invites nominations and applications for the position of
Associate Provost for Information  Resources and Technology.  The Associate
Provost provides leadership, vision, and strategic planning for academic and
administrative computing, networking, the library, telecommunications, audio
visual and television services, and the public radio station.

The Associate Provost, in collaboration with the academic deans and
administrative officers, provides leadership to creatively apply information
and technology to the curricula and to support the  technological
infrastructure for the operations of the University.

Applicants for the position of Associate Provost must have 1) a vision of the
role of information resources and technology in support of academic programs;
2) significant experience in the application of information resources and
technology in higher education; 3) demonstrated success in the management of
personnel and budgets; and 4) experience in the delivery of
effective information and technology services.

Applicants should also have a minimum of five years of increasingly
responsible administrative experience in an academic setting, demonstrated
commitment to participatory management and open decision making, excellent
leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and an advanced degree in
a relevant field.

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate familiarity with the
administration and operation of computing centers, networks, libraries,
distance learning technologies, telecommunications, audio visual and
television services, and public radio stations. A record of teaching,
research and community outreach is highly desirable.
