                                CALL FOR ARTICLES

Humanities Collections is a new quarterly journal devoted to writing and
research on primary and secondary collections. The journal seeks
contributions from librarians, archivists, curators, historians, writers,
and humanities scholars who work in national and international collections.

Articles should address research and scholarship in collections in
the following areas:

        philosophy religion folklore
        visual arts literature languages
        music dance theater

Interdisciplinary studies -- women's studies, African American studies,
Latin American studies, Middle Eastern studies, Judaic studies, film
studies, gay and lesbian studies, for example -- will also be included.

Humanities Collections will also examine critical issues facing the
humanities in the area of technology. Issues to be examined include digital
imaging, text-encoding projects, Internet sites, multimedia projects,
humanists' use of the technology, and projects undertaken to provide greater
access to materials in remote collections. Preservation issues concerning
manuscripts and archival materials will also be addressed.

Contributors are invited to forward title and abstract of a proposed article to:
