Just managed to reconnect to this forum and what is my first message?
How to spell disk. FWIW, I always assumed that disk was short for
diskette. My Webster's 9th Collegiate defines "diskette" as a floppy
disk. Disk and Disc are varient spellings, with k being the preferred
form. I usually use disk when I mean a floppy disk and disc for CDs.
Mostly it was a question of personal aesthetics. Not that I thought
anyone else cared or paid attention. Now I know. -- Lee Jaffe, UCSC
