The University of Detroit Mercy invites applications for an entry-level
tenure track public services librarian position. Anticipated start date
is January, 1997.
RESPONSIBILITIES: reference desk services (including night/weekend
rotation), bibliographic instruction, collection development, and
participation in UDM, local, regional, and national committees and
professional organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS: MLS or equivalent from ALA-accredited library school,
demonstrated ability to work in an automated reference environment,
strong public services committment, excellent oral and written
communication skills.
BENEFITS: BC/BS or HMO, TIAA/CREF, 10 month faculty appointment
and contract, minimum salary $26,000.
