LAMA PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE SEEKS
ASSOCIATE EDITOR FOR OCCASIONAL PAPER SERIES
The Publications Committee of the Library and Administration
Association (LAMA) of the American Library Association (ALA) is
seeking an associate editor for the LAMA Occasional Paper Series.
Deadline for applications is November 30, 1996.
The successful candidate will serve a two-year term and is eligible
for reappointment to a second two-year term.
The Occasional Paper Series includes papers on topics related to the
managerial aspects of librarianship such as facility planning and
management, personnel, public relations, fiscal planning and
management, middle management, and statistics in all types of
libraries.
The Series Editor and Associate Editor have responsibility for
developing and maintaining editorial and publications policies for
the series; developing and soliciting proposals for manuscripts;
reviewing the quality and marketability of proposals and manuscripts;
editing manuscripts; and facilitating the approval and publications
process by working with authors, editors, the LAMA Publications
Committee, and the LAMA and ALA Editions staff.
Applicants must be LAMA members and have editorial or publishing
experience.
Candidates will be interviewed during the 1997 ALA Midwinter Meeting,
February 14-20, in Washington, D.C.
