CALL FOR ARTICLES AND NEWS ITEMS

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND DISABILITIES (ITD)
ISSN 1073-5127
Information Technology and Disabilities (ITD), a quarterly,
refereed electronic journal published since 1993 under the
direction of EASI (Equal Access to Software and Information), is
seeking submissions for upcoming issues. With thousands of
subscribers and an inestimable number of users on the Web, ITD is
uniquely positioned to disseminate timely information to a large
international audience. The audience for ITD includes
individuals with disabilities; primary and secondary school
teachers; higher education professionals such as faculty members
and administrators; librarians; rehabilitation workers;
occupational therapists and others interested in the integration
of assistive technology into their respective fields and
environments.
ARTICLES
Articles may be any length, but must be sent electronically
(e-mail or disk copy OK) and should conform to APA style.
In the past, ITD has featured articles ranging from the practical
("how to") to more theoretical and historical studies of
technology and its impact on the lives of people with
disabilities. All articles submitted are reviewed promptly.
Notification is generally given within a month of submission.
NEWS AND REVIEWS
In addition to feature articles, ITD has a number of semi-regular
"Departments" including K-12, Campus Computing, Libraries, Access
to Employment, and Online Information. If you have an idea for a
short piece in one of our departments, please drop us a line.
Items submitted should be of interest to a national/international
audience, and may include books, hardware, software or other
products for review.
If you have anything you think might be of interest to our target
audiences -- from an idea to a fully developed article -- please
contact the editor of Information Technology and Disabilities.
Check out the journal via gopher or the Web or subscribe to
receive ITD by e-mail every quarter. Subscriptions to ITD are
free. (See instructions, below.)
On behalf of everyone involved in producing ITD, I do hope that
you will consider sharing your work by submitting an article or
news item for consideration.

Individual ITD articles and departments are archived on the St.
John's University gopher. To access the journal via gopher,
locate the St. John's University (New York) gopher. Select
"Disability and Rehabilitation Resources" and from the next menu,
select "EASI: Equal Access to Software and Information."
"Information Technology and Disabilities" is an item on the EASI
menu.
