NET STUMPERS! A TEST OF YOUR NET SKILLS

                           BACK TO SCHOOL!
                           Friday the 13th

The Net Stumpers quiz, inspired by Rick Gates' Internet Hunts, opened this
afternoon, Friday the 13th at 3pm, EDT. The person with the first all-correct
answers or the highest scoring set of answers will be declared the winner.
Net Stumpers has no relation to the Stumpers-L mailing list.

The winner, whose name and answers will be posted by the end of the month,
will receive $25. Winning entries must give the correct answers as well as
explain where and how they were found on the Internet. See complete rules
at the web site for more detail.

For recognition, the answers must be posted in the answer form available
at <http://www.delphi.com/swashzone/netstumpers/stumpers.html>.

  1. Where can I find current addresses of college and university web pages
     throughout the world?

Where and how did you find the answers?

  2. Back to School for some means back to a prime place to pick up a
computer virus. Where can I find a list of anti-virus software
available on the nets with evaluations of the different choices?

Where and how did you find the answer?

  3. Speaking of viruses, I see a warning, supposedly issued by the FCC,
against the "Good Times Virus" popping up in newsgroups and listservs
every month or so. I know it is a hoax, but saying so doesn't convince
people. Where can I find an authoritative source that it really is a
     hoax?

Where and how did you find the answer?

  4. I want to give a gift of a book to a child who is starting school.
Where can I buy the 1996 Caldecutt (may be misspelled) Award Winner
     and what is its title?

Where and how did you find the answers?

Extra credit question:
This "Back to School" quiz was issued on "Friday the 13th." Both are the
titles of movies. Was anyone in "Back to School" who was also in the
original "Friday the 13th"?

Where and how did you find the answers?
