Subject: Aleph
Greetings from the South African Library!
We are currently exploring the available library packages, one
of which is Aleph 500. A questionnaire has been sent to current
users to find out more about specific applications, user
support, etc, but we are also keen to know who does *not* use
this package, and why.
Should you have considered Aleph, and subsequently decided
against it, would you consider letting me know? We would also be
interested to know what package was chosen instead.
Thanks. +------------------------------------------------------+

Subject: Windows Security
We are investigating softare packages for securing our Windows-based
workstations. We are running Windows95 and Windows 3.11 for Workgroups.
While none of our workstations are currently networked (other than
serving as clients on our campus backbone), we intend in the near
future to expand a small Novell 4.1 LAN to include all PCs in our
library. Anybody got any suggestion for security software? We are
especially interested in hearing about any experiences with the
product Fortres 101. Thanks!
Please reply to me directly.

Subject: Marc Tags for GeoRef?
Our state networking staff are trying to Z39.50-ize GeoRef. The data &
opac vendors don't have/aren't providing marc tags for this title. If
someone has aready tagged this title, could they borrow some coding?
Thanks,
David P. Atkins
