1. Position: Branch Coordinator for the 6 libraries of the Montgomery
County Memorial Library System (MCMLS). Reports to the County Library
Director. Salary: $ 1,376.92 biweekly. Responsibilities include
supervision of branch managers, evaluation of service effectiveness and
operational efficiency, assist managers with development of branch budgets,
assists Director in development and implementation of system policy, etc.
Involves frequent visits to branches. Must use own car, but travel milage
will be paid. Requires ALA MLS and at least three years supervisory experience
in a public library. Should be computer literate, have good communication
skills, knowledgeable in budgeting and management. Benefits: two weeks

public, ordering materials, identifies community needs, plans services,
etc. Reports to Branch Coordinator. Requires: MLS and two years
professional public library experience, preferably in a supervisory role.

The University of Nevada, Reno seeks an innovative, service oriented
manager to direct public service operations in its Libraries.  The
University Libraries are committed to campus initiatives to integrate
information resources and technologies into every facet of University life
through active and collaborative interdepartmental partnerships.  The
position reports to the Associate Vice President for Information Resources
and Technologies, who in turn reports to the University President.

Responsibilities: As a member of the Libraries' Cabinet, the incumbent
participates in overall administration of the libraries, including
planning, development and evaluation of services.  The director
coordinates all library public services, supervising a staff of
approximately 55.  Reporting units include Business and Government
Information Center, four branch libraries (Physical Sciences, Mines,
Engineering, and Life and Health Sciences), Instructional Services,
Document Delivery Services, Special Collections and Archives, Basque
Library, and Access Services.  Head of Access Services oversees
Reference, Circulation, Film and Video Library, Learning Lab,
Collection Maintenance, and facilities supervision. The director
provides leadership for public services departments in striving to
assure successful, collaborative relationships with other information- and
technology-related units on campus.  The position establishes service
standards and promotes responsive information services to the University
community. The position is an academic faculty, tenure-track
appointment.

Qualifications: Required-- ALA accredited M.L.S.;  five years of
progressively responsible administrative/supervisory experience in an
academic library; broad understanding of  information technologies;
demonstrated ability to communicate logically, clearly and effectively in
oral and written form; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to
establish effective working relationships with staff and faculty;
analytical and problem solving skills; demonstrated leadership and
achievement in the library profession; and evidence of scholarly
contributions.

Salary: Open, depending on qualifications and experience (minimum
mid-$50s for 12 month appointment).

Fringes: TIAA/CREF and other retirement options; 24 days vacation per
year; generous sick leave.   The State of Nevada does not have an income
tax.

and 24 doctoral degree programs, is situated in a metropolitan area of
250,000, conveniently located only 40 miles from Lake Tahoe and 225

research missions of the University.
