                          LACASIS
Los Angeles Chapter of the American Society for Information Science
               announces its 1996 Annual Workshop

PICTURES TALK: INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA ON THE WEB

JAVA, VRML, mBone... The World Wide Web alphabet soup has become thicker
and richer. What does each of these ingredients bring to the WEB
multimedia banquet? The workshop will review how these new technologies
may enhance not only information presentation, but influence primary
electronic sources themselves.

Information professionals, whether they be technology managers, librarians,
or brokers, must be aware of the new, low-cost, high-accessibility Web
multimedia resources. Learn how Webcasting, Real Audio, and even advances
in band-width will enable you to deliver optimized, animated, talking
information packages to your clients or institutions. Don't be left in a
static dust cloud! Attend "Pictures Talk" and claim your spot on the dynamic
wave of Web multimedia!
