LIBRARY TRAINING CONSULTANT
Innovative Interfaces, Inc., is currently seeking an enthusiastic individuals
who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and conduct on site customer training on all modules
of the INNOPAC system, consult with and advise customers on all phases of
implementation, system use and problem resolution, install equipment, manage
customer acccounts.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of three years library or training experience.
Training of library staff on the use of automated systems desirable.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: library technical
services, data or technical processing, or reference in public, academic, or
special libraries. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong
commitment to service. MLS or equivalent experience. Frequent travel
required, approximately 50%.

New Faculty Position
Baylor University <URL http://diogenes.baylor.edu/Library> seeks an innovative
Resource Sharing Librarian to head the newly consolidated Resource Sharing
Department (formerly, Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery). The librarian
will head a department of 5 FTE staff plus student assistants which processed
over 33,000 transactions during 1995/96. Responsibilities include the
administration of the department's daily operations and the establishment of
goals and performance standards for the department. The librarian will work
with other library faculty to develop and explore new services and
technologies for resource sharing. The librarian will represent Baylor at
local, regional, and national consortia and meetings and will serve on
University and library committees.
QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-accredited MLS; 3 years minimum post-MLS professional
library experience in an Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery office;
experience with OCLC, online catalogs, and document delivery services;
demonstrated speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills; flexibility to
accept and manage new technologies and experience in the supervision and
training of paraprofessional staff. Highly desired are commitment to
professional activities and/or research and evidence of creativity and
initiative.
Rank/Salary: Assistant or Associate Professor/$33,000+ (dependent on
experience) for 12 months, tenure-track.

Services Department:
Librarian III Help Desk Coordinator: Set up and maintain help desk service
to 80 sites for CARL applications, PC troubleshooting and desktop
applications; supervise staff of seven and coordinate training and support
with Office of Staff Development. Requires experience with networks and
distributed systems; strong user support philosophy; prefer an MLS but will
substitute experience for degree. Salary range : $35,604 - $49,932.
Network Coordinator II (Grade 15): Assist with design and installation of
Windows NT based networks throughout branch locations; some supervision;
must be prepared to integrate LANs into wide area network and work with
multiple platforms. Salary range $37,344 -- $56,916.

The Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is
seeking qualified applicants for the position of TECHNICAL SERVICES
SUPERVISOR. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to
work as an effective manager, coordinating computer systems operations
as well as cataloging and acquisitions functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise staff of six. Plan and coordinate acquisitions and cataloging
of materials for multi-location library system. Manages operations of
the Horizon integrated library system.
QUALIFICATIONS
Thorough knowledge of library technical services, including the ability
to perform original cataloging (Library of Congress system). Strong
supervisory and communications skills. Relevant experience in library
automation familiarity with Ameritech software, especially HORIZON is
desirable. Experience with MARC based cataloging and library automation
is essential. A professional graduate degree in Librarianship is
required, along with at least 3 years of supervisory experience in
library technical services.
GENERAL INFORMATION

Collegiate Librarian Information Officer (CLIO). The Collegiate Librarian
Information Officer (CLIO), a library faculty position offers faculty and
students in the Pamplin College of Business (for more information see

discipline-related consulting to expand their awareness and use of
information and technological resources, both internal and external to the
University.
The CLIO will work with the departments in the College to advance the use
of computing and information resources in research and teaching. The CLIO

assisting faculty with the use of the World Wide Web technology, offering
technical support for some general software used in the College, and
collaborating on the development of information literacy programs within
the curriculum.
The CLIO will report to the Head of User Services. The CLIO will
maintain two office locations, one in the Pamplin College of Business and
one in the main library. The CLIO will devote 50 percent of time to
central library services at the main library. This will entail assisting
the broader university community in the sciences by providing reference,
instructional, and collection development services.
The successful candidate should possess a working knowledge of accounting,
economics, finance, marketing, and management science in order to assist
faculty with the discipline-specific educational and research tools
available and to disseminate knowledge of these tools within the College.
The CLIO must have technical competencies and experience in the use of
