SOFTWARE ENGINEERS (NJ)
The positions are located in Allendale, NJ, a beautiful northern NJ suburb
just south of New York State.
Participate in developing an enhanced image management system in a Windows
NT environment. You will design, develop and test essential subsystems to be
integrated into various products that make up entire client/server image
management and review systems.
Qualifications include solid C/C++ coding and debugging skills, software
development skills, working knowledge of a multi-tasking operating system,
API, and a BSCS/BSEE or equivalent experience. Experience on a
client/server database application development project using Rapid
Application Development tools is a strong plus, as is SQL, object-oriented
programming and MSVC++.
SOFTWARE QA SPECIALISTS (NJ, WA)
The positions are located in Allendale, NJ and in Bothell, WA.
Serving as the primary QA representative of the project team, you will
execute functional, performance and stress component and system test plans
for a client/server GUI application; formulate test strategies for product
releases; and develop and utilize innovative test tools that enhance and
improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our SWQA process.
Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated ability to develop both
automated and manual test cases from functional and performance
requirements; have a working knowledge of the software and validation life
cycle; and a solid understanding of good testing methodologies.
Desirable qualifications include GUI experience, client/server testing,
knowledge of ISO 9000 and FDA GMPs, hands-on experience developing and
implementing test automation, and a BSEE or BSCS degree.

Announcement of Anticipated Position Opening
Systems Librarian (12-month, temporary, non-tenure track position,
subject to renewal after one year.)
Responsibilities:
Capital Community-Technical College and Manchester Community-Technical
College have an opening for a shared Systems Librarian position to
plan, design, install, manage, and evaluate networked library
information delivery systems and services. Also works with Computer
Services Departments on each campus to develop linkages between the
libraries'integrated systems, the campus networks, the statewide
library network, and the systems of other community-technical colleges. The
Systems Librarian is responsible for the development of custom
applications for library users, including creation and maintenance
of the World Wide Web homepage at each institution's library. Also
responsible for staff training, input into the design of library
facilities as it relates to technology, selection of hardware
and software, and network security. Related responsibilities as
assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
An ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library Science and one year of
experience as a systems librarian at the college level. Applicants
should have experience with integrated library systems, local area
networks, CD-ROM networks, pc and mainframe computing environments,
HTML, and linkages to Internet resources. Also required, demonstrated
competence in programming,installing and managing networked systems,
and in developing custom applications for library users, knowledge
of developing technological trends in information delivery, experience
in staff training and strategic planning, excellent interpersonal
and communcation skills, and abiliity to work as a team member.
Also desirable, familiarity with OCLC and CARL library systems,
and Windows NT LAN's. A demonstrated understanding of the
community-technical college and its diverse student population is
essential.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT [new position]:
DEPUTY NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
Network Services Division
County of Morris, New Jersey
In late 1995, the Freeholders of the County of
Morris, NJ, created the Network Services Division to
administer and operate the Morris Automated
Information Network (M.A.I.N.), comprised of 30
municipal libraries, the Morris County Library and
the County College of Morris Library. M.A.I.N.
provides flexible access to the libraries' union
catalog, access to several UMI databases, access to
the MOREnet gopher, and lynx access to the Internet
from library terminals, via dial-up and via telnet.
In 1996, the Network will add its first extra-County
member.
Description of Duties:
The Deputy, reporting to the Network
Administrator, will (1) assist in managing
implementation projects; (2) evaluate database
maintenance and cataloging workflow, practices,
costs; (3) assume primary responsibility for
assimilating and evaluating DRA application modules,
particularly as DRA launches the client/server
product; (4) manage the evolution of the MOREnet
gopher into a M.A.I.N. web site.
Requirements:
ALA-accredited Masters degree. Minimum 2 years'
experience supporting library automation applications
in a large public library or library consortium.
Experience conducting requirements analyses and
writing specifications for automation-related
services. Minimum 1 year experience in cataloging
using an automated system. Experience launching and
supporting Internet client software/utilities.
Excellent electronic and verbal communications
skills, for interactions both with co-workers and
with user constituency. Demonstrated excellence and
commitment to customer service.
Highly Desirable:
Hands-on experience in one or more of the
following: DRA, DEC OpenVMS and DCL, formal project
